A lot of us have heard of Red Hat Society at one time or another but what exactly do we know about them? What is the purpose of this organization and what exactly do they do? We’re going to try and answer these questions for you. Mainly the Society is aimed at networking. What the goal is is to have women make friends and be fulfilled in their lives.. Most importantly they want for the members of the group to enjoy their lives together.

The Society is nothing like a sorority though. It is totally unlike a sorority in that there are no initiations here. It is also not considered a voluntary service club. It is merely a social organization specifically for women. Founding members of a chapter are called “Queens” and each member over the age of 50 are called the Red Hatters and always wear red hats and purple attire to all Red Hat Society functions.

Women under the age of 50 are invited to join the organization too. These members are referred to as the “Pink Hatters”. When they attend the Red Hat Society functions they are required to were a pink hat and lavender clothing. When they turn 50 they will then graduate to being a Red Hatter and wear the appropriate attire to the functions.

There are many different activities that the Society members attend. They are always dressed in their appropriate member attire and love wearing their hats and fun fashion accessories. A favorite accessory among the members is a feather boa.

The types of events that they host vary a great deal. The most popular however is a tea party. Often times they will host an event that includes many different chapters. The headquarters of the Society host the majority as well as the largest of the events. Members are required to pay an annual membership fee as well. For even more information about this fun group visit the company’s website.
