Eyelid Plastic Surgery - The After Effects

women

Some patients are shocked at their appearance when they wake up the day after having eyelid plastic surgery. It is not uncommon for a patient to seriously wonder what they were thinking when they made the decision to have the operation. The important thing is to be calm and to know that you made the right decision in wanting to improve the appearance of your eyes and that you will soon look a whole lot better.

Swelling is part of the package that comes with the operation. The swelling can range from moderate to extreme. It generally peaks the morning following the procedure and then begins to subside after that. In most cases it will resolve itself over a span of 10 to 14 days; however this varies from person to person. Bear in mind that healing and recovery is a very personal thing.

The first day post surgery you may wake up to find that your eyes do not want to open (or will open a very small amount). The good news is that improvement and recovery is soon to begin for you. As soon as you leave your bed and walk around or sit in a chair or on the couch you will be upright and this will help gravity to do its job properly. Some of the swelling in your eye area will then begin to drain down your face and into your cheeks. Blinking helps this process along as it helps to deflect some of the inflammatory swelling that builds up while you are asleep.

You may also discover following the operation that your cheeks look like those of chipmunks who are storing acorns for the winter and that more than just your eyelid areas are bruised. This varies from patient to patient. While it may be difficult to look at yourself in the mirror in this state, be aware that this is all normal and a natural part of the healing period following a cosmetic procedure.

There is something you need to know about the eyelids. They can bruise easily and only require a small amount of blood to do so. A few small drops of blood combined with tissue fluid can affect the thin and delicate skin of that area. However the intense redness of your eyelid zone should give way to a muddy purple color in a few days time. After that a yellow color will signal that healing is well underway and that the bruising will soon be a thing of the past. For some individuals the final area of the face that is likely to sport bruising is the top of the cheeks. Before long this will be gone as well.

How to Shower: Women vs. Men

Why women are more likely to run into an elevator before allowing other passengers out?

Many women seem willing running at the time of a lift (elevator) opened the door without even considering that someone may be trying to get out? I can understand that happening once or twice in the a woman's life, but believes it would be that after several times, the women understand the courtesies of elevatorhood. What am I missing here?

depends on the woman, some have the arrogant attitude, which operates the world around them. others are not paying attention and have their minds on other things "that really I need to get [store] inserted before they close, etc. You forgot to mention those who do not rush into the elevator, but block any escape route. but then which is to NOT rush into the elevator, as soon as the doors open, like my wife and others. hope not only for everyone to exit the elevator, but then leave that others before them. bothers me because we lost a couple of lifts simply because too many people were becoming increasingly and there was no place for us.
